John Denton

John Denton’s interest in wine started at University in the 1960’s.  Bottling bulk wine with friends and searching out interesting wines grew into serious collecting in the early 1980’s. The search for a vineyard site in 1996 was the start of the DENTON Vineyard.

Simon has been in the restaurant industry for over 30 years and currently owns Izakaya Den in Melbourne’s CBD.

A passion for wine started growing up with yearly visits with John to icons Mount Mary and Yarra Yering and then grew through the restaurant business.

 

KIRRILY GORDON

WINEMAKER

Winemaker Kirilly Gordon has an enviable resumé, having worked in Victoria with the likes of Bindi, Hanging Rock, Bress and Provenance, as well as a stint abroad working with the iconic Vie de Romans in Italy. Her intuition and skill with a broad swathe of varieties along with a commitment to produce clean, fresh and pure wines bodes very well indeed for the continuing evolution of the Denton Wines.

JULIAN PARROT

VITICULTURIST

Julian has a sustainable approach; the site is almost exclusively dry-farmed, there are no herbicides applied and under-vine cultivation is used widely. With a laser focus on soil health, the fruit coming from our site has never been in better shape.
